2 Things To Make A Memorial Garden More Special

If you are trying to come up with a good way to create a memorial for someone you love after they have passed on, one thing you might consider doing is creating a memorial garden. If your loved one enjoyed gardening, that's a good way to keep their memory alive.

It can also be a great place to spread their cremains. That way they can go back to the soil and help feed the plants that they loved. There are several things that you can do to a memorial garden to make it even more special.

1. Benches

One thing that you can do is to put a bench in or near the garden. You can set the bench so that you are right in the garden, or just place it so that you can sit and watch the garden and enjoy it. The nice thing about benches is that there are all kinds of material that you can choose from. You can get everything from a plastic bench to a metal bench. One thing that you could do is have a contractor come out and create a mold for a custom cement bench that can be poured right in place.

If you want to have a large cement bench, that may be the way to go. Of course, cement isn't the only material that you can have customized. There are various metal fabricators that you can work with so that you can get a custom bench that will fit in your yard and garden. If you don't have the room for a memorial garden in your yard, you may want to consider commissioning a bench to be placed at a city park, hospital garden, or someplace similar.

2. Memorial Stones

These stones can be used as stepping stones and such, but if you are going to do one that is strictly a memorial, then you generally just set them somewhere in your garden so that they can be seen, but no one can walk on them. The nice thing about these is that you can create your own. You can find various molds that you can use, and all you need is some quick set cement, and you can make your own. You can put your loved one's name on the stone, or something that makes you think of them, or decorate it in a way that they would've liked.
